Soldering crimp contacts

If the supplied connector has crimp contacts, and (most probably) you don't own a suitable crimp tool, you can still solder the wires to the crimp contacts. To do this, first solder the supplied contact strip at its disposable perforated end to a heavier solderable object, e.g. to a prototyping breadboard or to a tin can, see image below. In this way the crimp contacts will be stable when you try to solder the wires to them. Note: Unfortunately not all kind of tin cans are solderable.

Usually there is one extra contact supplied in the kit, just in case you spoil one of the contacts while soldering. The necessary cable is not always part of the kit.
